Civil Engineering Intern
Construction & Surveying Firm (School Credit Eligible)
Are you interested in gaining real-world experience in civil engineering and land development? We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern to assist with hands-on fieldwork and design support. This role is ideal for students studying civil engineering, surveying, geology, or related fields who want to apply classroom knowledge to real projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist survey crews with land surveying and topographic data collection
- Operate and take readings with laser levels and other surveying instruments
- Support preparation and organization of CAD design files
- Help with soil grading, compaction, and backfilling activities on job sites
- Participate in photogrammetry and mapping for site documentation
- Work alongside geological engineers to evaluate soil and ground conditions
- Shadow engineers and contribute to project planning meetings
Requirements:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a civil engineering, geology, or surveying program
- Basic familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions
- Reliable transportation to job sites and office
- Interest in pursuing a career in civil engineering, surveying, or construction

This internship is ideal for a high school senior or college student looking to fulfill internship or volunteer hour requirements for school.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with creating and scheduling posts for Facebook, Instagram, and potentially TikTok
- Take and edit photos or short videos of job sites (before/after shots, time-lapses, reels, etc.)
- Help brainstorm content ideas for seasonal promotions or behind-the-scenes features
- Monitor social channels for comments or messages and engage with followers
- Track basic metrics like follower growth, post reach, and engagement
Requirements:
- Interest in social media, photography, and/or marketing
- Reliable transportation (some on-site visits may be required)
- Basic knowledge of platforms like Instagram and Facebook
- Ability to work independently and meet simple deadlines
- Available 5–10 hours per week (schedule is flexible)

Responsibilities:
- Assist in sketching and planning landscape designs
- Take accurate site measurements and record dimensions
- Help calculate square footage, plant quantities, and material estimates
- Support plant selection and placement based on site conditions
- Participate in hands-on tasks like planting, mulching, and layout marking
- Observe and take detailed notes during project walkthroughs and design meetings
Requirements:
- Interest in landscaping, horticulture, or design
- Comfortable using a tape measure and doing basic math (area, length, volume)
